It seems like I've neglect you for very long, bloggie. So right now I'm going to do some housekeeping on the last day of 2011 ;)

This year is weird. I don't feel like spending countdown with friends outside. I also don't know why, but I chose to go for a family outing, which I hated so much in the past. All of a sudden it didn't really matter to me anymore.

Friends invited me to count down, but I rejected them.

Hi Club performance at CDAC Yishun today. Wasn't really nervous, enjoyed the performance. Will sign up next time again. Gained soooo much!

After that we had outing. And during the night we continued "partying" at JY's house. What a neat house for a guy. The empty space under his house is totally perfect for chilling. We played frisbee, after getting so hot and sweaty... I continued learning how to juggle from Kiki :D He's officially my 2nd shi fu (master).

And I'd a bet with JY. See who'll learn how to juggle 3 balls first. Loser cooks a meal for winner!

I like such friends who can stay on during the night. Finally after years with goodie-two-shoes friends XD... I've made up my mind to stick with this clique from now on.

Made lots of awesome friends in HI Club, I can't help but to advertise / emphasise again.

Today I found out someone who also catches hong kong drama! We realised a dream that I always wanted to play with a friend: guessing the drama title through the theme song.

Someone starts signing at the same time as me, but is so godly and pro. Jealous! >.<

Had dinner (supper?) with friend's friends. To be exact, I was watching them eat. Quite good to meet new people... And get creeped out by how small the world is :D

My dad won't ask what happen, why, how, when, where..... He just look at me quietly, seeing that I'm so gritting my teeth in determination and wiping my tears off with my sleeves, he simply helps me out. Continues supporting me. Since young it's always been like that. I may be pampered and spoilt, but when I grow up I understand what he'd done for me. I'm really grateful, I swear to myself when he's old I will never ever leave him. I will let him be the happiest old man. I will let everyone envious him to have such a daughter like me. HI Club Camp

Back from HI club camp. Sleepy! After posting this, will sleep!

Very seldom I miss the group members even after break camp. They're seriously very very great people - helpful, enthusiastic and caring. Finally I found another place that I can "fit in". These HI clubbers... they make you feel great.

Before the camp, I can hardly sign (as in sign language) any thing except my name -_-

But now, although slowly, I dare to sign many sentences!

It's really thanks to the people in HI club. They're all so patient and willing to guide you when you take the initiative to ask. Even if I keep forgetting a certain word, I ask for perhaps more than thrice, they still show no impatience.

So I learnt that to improve in Sign Language:
ASK + PRACTICE

As simple as that!

You don't know HOW glad I'm to go for this camp. Luckily I listened to my instructors' and friend's advice - my sign language improve a great deal and I make so many worthy friends.

Usually after camp breaks, I don't talk much with the group mates. But this one, I feel that I still wanna look for them and ~~harass them~~ know them better.

Awesome CCA. Wonderful camp.

Reflection time!
From starting don't know anything, to learning the prices of the food on the menu, to making them, being a cashier, serving customers, sorting out the accounts at night.... It's been quite a long way. At the start when's there's stuff to be learnt, it's call gaining experience. But when you start to know most of the things and there's nothing much left for you, it's kindda a waste of time.

Happy to have this last colleague accompanying this last lap, Ophelia. My last customer was fatefully Ophelia too.
P.S. two different Ophelias met for the first time.

I'm starting to think about the people I've met there. Hmm.... People come and go, but the place's still remain. This what you call People changes but things remain the same.

My sense of direction seems to be getting worse... Or maybe it's been that bad after all. Can I get any medicine for that?

刚刚看完《无间道》，好激动啊！

小的时候看过一次半次，不过我记得当时我还不明白其中的尔虞我诈，而且电影一些桥段也相当含蓄、意味深长，一个不通世事的黄毛小孩儿能领略得了多少？

很喜欢看摩斯密码的桥段，我从小就很想学了！

因为以前还小看不懂，对《无间道》没有好印象，更不明白为什么每个人都对它赞不绝口。后来最近不关是做功课找资料还是读赏析漫谈，只要是关于“香港电影”的，就总会有《无间道》的踪影。因为它划分了一个时代，在香港电影业低潮期的许多滥作中，《无间道》脱颖而出，风靡一时。而在香港电影的“警匪片”一类，《无间道》可以说是其中的代表作。就因为这么多有力的证据证明《无间道》“不是盖的”，我于是给它多一次机会。

看完后，我知道了《无间道》获得诸多奖项的原因，也明白为什么它有如此良好的口碑了。从演员阵容那么浩大的卡士，到节奏紧凑的故事情节，《无间道》无疑是一部优秀的电影片。人物心思细腻，除了经典对白，很多时候是通过他们的动作、眼神，带出整个故事。一个表面身份是警察，一个表面身份是黑社会份子，他们两个的身份地位如此截然不同，却又有相同的任务。最富戏剧性的是，两个人的命运还交织在一起，带给我们一个又一个的高潮。一个刘德华，一个梁朝伟，两个都是举足轻重的重量级男主角，真是不到最后一刻，也不知鹿死谁手。两条线索同时进行，让观众不断地想：“到底行动会不会失败？”、“他会不会发现他是卧底？”、“最后会怎么样？”。故事的叙述有条不紊、干净利落，拍摄角度也恰到好处，往往给我们带来一系列的视觉冲击。

我最喜欢《无间道》的隐晦。隐晦的电影就是指含蓄、难懂，通常“看第一次不明白，看几次就大概懂了”，像王家卫的电影那种。我对“隐晦电影”有一种着迷。因为它很多事情不用说得太明白，留下一些空间给你发挥想象。它的对白往往很经典，乍看之下或许没什么意思，但配合人物性格、周遭环境，这些话语值得我们一再细细玩味，韵味深长但又不会长篇大论。《无间道》还不算太难理解，但是有许多地方仍然表现含蓄，甚至是耐人寻味。就像“傻强”最后垂死之前跟阿仁说的话：“今天谁没出现，谁就是内鬼……我没说你去按摩，让琛哥知道你去按摩，你就死定了。”　然后问了一句“仁哥，我好想问你，今天那个按摩女郎漂亮吗？”时，我不禁像许多观众一样，脑海浮出一个问号：傻强是不是知道陈永仁是卧底？“傻强”可能真的“傻”得相信陈永仁真的只是去按摩，但聪明的最高境界又何尝不是“装傻”呢？

前面说“我从不带手表”的陈永仁，后面却又带上黄Sir送给他的手表，
卧底岁月期间彼此信任、互相扶持

线索+伏笔之一。喜欢这个桥段。

还有刘建明的女友Mary写的小说，一个有28个性格的男主角，“每天起床就自己跟自己演戏，演得他连自己的真实性格都忘了”。他就暗喻着刘建明本身，“都不知道他是好人还是坏人……这个应该只有他自己清楚”。

故事的结局真是绝了，看了的人会明白我的意思。

坦白说，我小的时候看《无间道》时，有一种黑暗、害怕的感觉，想必是电影营造凝重的气氛太成功的缘故。我从来没对一部电影写过那么长（其实还可以更长）的感想，《无间道》真的太精彩，太有研究价值了！

I shouldn't have looked up on "red moons" and read up on what formed them.
It spoiled all my fascinations.
This probably proves something - I shan't learn about astronomy. Even the most romantic phenomenon will be ruined by total scientific explanations.

It all happened when just now, by random, ZK told me to "look up to the west, there's a red moon and it's a rare occurrence".
I went to the extent of going all the way to the park just to catch a glimpse of that crimson moon.
Too bad I'm not fated with it.

Di zi & Pi Pa

Took me some time to find this pic with di zi and pi pa.

A few days ago (Friday to be exact) I just bought my very own Chinese flute! Okay, dizi, that's what Lyra keeps emphasizing on. 笛子笛子笛子 DI ZI.

I'm still desperately trying to blow something out of it. No wonder people say that's the hardest part. Once I break it through, things should be easier.

It was yet another inspiring day. I didn't know Chinese music is actually so fun and interesting. Thanks to the dull and boring pieces they always perform back then in secondary schools, we all had a misconception.

By the way, the pi pa (琵琶) has become my favourite Chinese musical instrument second to di zi.

To me, pi pa still has the mysterious aura around it... Maybe it's because of how most Chinese folk-tales portray this instrument.

I'm having some fantastical thoughts with these two instruments.

Too bad I need to rush to work now. Argh.

读完了金庸的长篇小说，意犹未尽。今天终于忍不住借了《碧血剑》！
好兴奋啊！
我享受读金庸小说时的全程投入，故事片段随着书上的文字在脑子播放，就像看一部精彩的武侠片。细腻的心理活动和语言让人物都活了起来，好像他们真的存在。

金庸的武侠小说虽然对华文程度不是很好的人来说，乍看之下“文字密密麻麻”，但其实不那么难消化的！
语文确实浅白易懂，我这样都看得懂啦⋯⋯难不到哪里去。
读一本书，也讲求缘分的。我在想，几时也会遇到一个跟我意气相投的知己呢？

Getting all excited just 'cause I'm successfully done with Bootcamp in Mac, and now I can activate Windows on my Mac.

Actually my main purposes are simply games and Funshion.

Thanks to the IT guy who spent 3 hours fixing my Mac.
I had him install a lot of stuff... 3 long hours!

The best thing was, he told me he had everything done so I can just relax and enjoy the product.
He said for some people, he would just reformat their notebook; he would leave the rest of the work for them.
I got the whole package because I am a well-mannered girl! Hhahaha!!!

武侠 and celebs

Yesterday had sneak preview of 《武侠》 movie at plaza sing.
Free, and best of all, get to see celebrities in real life. Wahhahaha!!!

Donnie Yen sat there, totally calm and cool. Director Peter Chan answered our questions with wits, lots of stuff that awed and inspired Ophelia and I.
When the celebs stepped into the theatre, the scene totally stunned me. Not the celebs themselves, but the sudden appearance of handphones and cameras (come in all styles and sizes) among the audience... It was just... magnificent.

Now I know what they mean when they say "This celeb looks better in real life" or "xxx looks better on TV".
They look so different from the screens!

Lessons are alright. But I look forward to Sign Language CCA! It's so engaging and meaningful. I'm so glad I didn't quit it despite the urging of some ignorant people.

Lessons that less aroused my interest throughout the day. But I can go home early :D

WEDNESDAY

Look forward to Speech and Presentation module, cuz it's inspiring always. Cher made it such that lessons we learnt go beyond classrooms. His lessons stretch as far as we live.

Hockey practice - always pray that it'll turn well.

Favourite module - Publications and Design. I realise that my core interests are designing and talking (speaking). Plus we can go home early ^_^

At night however, I gotta teach tuition. The journey back and fro is long and time-wasting, but teaching a kid is kindda rewarding.

FRIDAY

Can sleep late, afternoon class! Photography / video lessons are quite fun.

SATURDAY

Busiest of the week.

Morning is either hockey practice or going to the Press Holdings.

Afternoon rush to teach tuition.

I can't say I dislike it, but I don't - like it.

Especially in the morning, I will whine and my willpower has a tough struggle with "Should I go or continue sleeping"?

SUNDAY

Hate waking up early for piano lesson.

Then 5 hours of free time to perhaps catch up with my homework / slacking.

Evening - part time job.

It's busy, but I like my life now. I really do.

I'm doing what I like, and I'm learning a lot of things, every day.

I meet new and great people.

I stumble upon all sort of chances and opportunities.

I feel alive.

Children Tutoring

Times fly... Back then tutors tutored me, now I tutor students.

First time (officially) being a teacher, more specifically a child's teacher, let me have a taste of how teacher feels.
Now I understand why teacher back then did certain things, and forced us to do certain things.
Oh and the thing about "parent pressure", somewhat true =P

Hmm... My kid really has a short attention span. But still, I think he's quite good already.

I set this as a challenge.
They say teaching kids can be frustrating and rewarding!
Gotta use the right methods, like fun hands-on activities to keep them focus.

A Funny Incident

The most I had done was simply placing one foot at the Gents, then quickly realising I've stepped into the wrong place.

But yesterday, I broke the record (sounds silly -_-) as I totally used the toilet then realised I'm in the males washroom.........

I believed that I was too tired after one whole afternoon of researching at the library.
I didn't know why or how but I just turn into the guys washroom.
No guys standing bowl (Is there a specific name for it?) - I didn't spot them.
Then I came out from the cubicle, washing my face at the basin to wake myself up.

It was then when a guy came into the toilet. Naturally I was immediately alert, half staring at him and half wondering if I should tell him that he's in the wrong side.
But somehow I sensed something amiss, so I quickly ran out and what appeared before me immediately put me to extreme embarrassment:
The pink-human-wearing-a-skirt sign hanging on the opposite door.

And I swear I never wanna see that guy again!

My Canon S95!!

I can't believe it, yes, cliche but IT'S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!

I bought my own camera! It's the wonderful Canon S95.
This time it isn't impulse buying okay, I've been trying to think thrice (not just twice) before buying things now.
I think when you're sensible enough to know what you're doing, you won't regret it. Hmm, something like that. I'm not sure how to express that =p

S95 is perfect for me - cuz it's small (great for traveling) and it's features of a professional camera.

Yay!
I'm so glad I waited for myself to be equipped with enough knowledge to buy a camera :)

P.S. I've used my last bit of money that I earned on this... Now I need to work ~~harder~~ smarter for more money~

The day when my interest and craze began to grow for roller coasters.

I'm gonna read about them and draw them till the craze subsides.

The first time I enjoyed roller coasters was ROLLER COASTER TYCOON 1 (a PC game).
I only enjoy some roller coasters in real life.
Not those guts-bursting brain-freezing breathtaking blood-oozing nerve-wrecking kind which has loops and total vertical slopes, but the innocent ones which are just exciting enough for me to get my heart rate increase a lil'.

Camps

It's like a "camp week".
Had skating camp then famine camp. Missed out hockey camp though.

Before camps...
Regret, bored and simply wanted to just rot at home and play computer.

During camps...
Well, since I'm here I'll just be cooperative and try to be positive.

After camps...
I love this the most - Made new friends, met very awesome people and have camp memories!

Famine camp was special in a sense that usually camps are scared to starve you, but this one doesn't.

I love meeting new people and knowing how many interesting souls there're out there in this world!

Kung Fu Panda 2 was so-so. Not as "must watch!!" as what others said.
Storyline kindda cliche and expected (but somewhat better than the previous sequel), what I like bout the movie is the beautiful China sceneries!

Hakka and roots

Wow. I was researching bout Chinese slangs in different regions for my project (really interesting, especially Hong Kong Cantonese slangs!), then I drifted to watching "hakka" on Youtube.

Hakka is a dialect. It's MY dialect.

I sortta miss it. I can only get to hear it when I go back to Malaysia, where my relatives speak the dialect.
Feels so nice and cosy to hear Hakka in those youtube clips!

Not everyone can understand.. Of course. Haha.
Especially our generation (in Singapore specifically), the ability to listen and understand dialect is perhaps rare / good enough, the ability to speak it exceeds expectations.
I always envious those doods out there, same generation as me, yet they can speak dialects fluently!

Went to a talk at SPH today.

Well, I realised that it's a talent, it's a special ability, and since I have it, I shouldn't waste it.

大扫除，翻出以前的玩具。

玩具啊，童年的回忆，真让人感慨。

我明白当年干哥把他所有的漫画丢掉的那种心痛了。不舍的也没办法，东西太多，地方太小。
还好有家人帮忙丢，我狠不下心。

有些还继续保留，可是大多数跟我“没啥交情的”都要说bye bye了！

发明照相机的人真伟大。
至少照片还可以收着。

A Lesbian Attempt

Because of our social psychology experiment, I pretended to be a lesbian with another classmate and walked around in the public.
Two other classmates followed behind to collect results; i.e, record down the people's reactions towards us.

It was embarrassing of course, that's why the initial couple of lesbians backed out after awhile, and the other classmate of mine and I had to swap roles with them.

But it was fun! I mean, you don't get much chances to do such stuff in life.

Okay, so people do look. Glances, stares, deliberately not wanting to look, pinpointing, talking behind our back, looking from head to toe...

I can't believe how busy I'm recently, yet I'm still carrying a big (though weary) grin on my face.

I've got 3 CCAs, and I like 'em all too much to quit any of them.
I've started making friends there, and it's really hard to just quit and sever all ties with them!
Ok I'm exaggerating again.

Right now I'm taking a quick rest, then rushing for piano class later. Working at evening.

And, I bought my new skates this week~

Looks like I need to be more organised... Everything is piling up already :(

Cough cough wearily

Having a terrible cough recently... lungs exploding due to excessive coughing :(

They say I must be too tired - that's why I'm having a cough.
But I'm enjoying my life too much to feel that I'm tearing apart.

Monday to Saturday, except Friday, I have CCA after school.
So most of the time it's already night time (or at the earliest, evening) when I reach home.
And my alarm clock is working every day - there isn't any day where I can wake up naturally :(

Right now, I really feel like sleeping. Sleep/////// Although I slept at 10 plus last night and woke up at 6.30am today.

6.30pm - inline skating practice later ;)
Maybe I should get a power nap now...

BQ's House

Went to BQ hse today, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself - not enough!

I'm going again soon!!! Even if BQ doesn't invite me!

We explored her Wii, mahjong and *some* mangas at her house today.
Next time I'm trying the skates as well.

Oh and her sets/sea/shelves of mangas at home are enough to open a bookstore....
Borrowed a few.

Was so entertained that I completely threw my appointment with my group mates at night on MSN off my mind :(

Stepping into The Life of Skaters

Skating is fun but as usual, my life's always dramatically adventurous... Or maybe it's just me thinking too much.

My friends who had zero knowledge bout skating as well made it smoothly from one point to another, with the guide of the seniors.
Whereas me, I fell twice, landed hard on my butt, and had three seniors escorting me before I successfully made it to our seated area.

I think during the practice session I was quite a problematic beginner as well....

But it makes me wanna challenge myself even more, and one day YOU WILL SEE ME SKATE LIKE THEY ARE BORN AS MY LEGS.

Orientation Week

Friends from Thetis

Ehh.. Actually the camp is rather boring.
But I'm glad I made friends from other courses ^^

Today's the last day for the orientation.
Finally a day of excitement - got to know own course mates!
My class seems to be full of nice and fun fellas.
Went to Sinema Old School and watched a local film "When Hainan Meets Teochew" (《当海南遇上潮州》）, I think it's really excellent! I enjoyed it throughout!

I can't wait for next week to come, so I can start lessons proper~

Today is was busy.

I had fun working with this partner, although we always end up having to work OT (overtime) and eating dinner at really late, weird timings.

HP was suppose to come at 12 to 4pm today, but he thought he was working tomorrow and he actually brought his grandma to Sentosa today -_-
I can't find another word but "epic" to describe him.

Ended up YS and I had to save the situation.
As if we weren't busy enough, queues of customers kept forming, even till 9 pm plus.
I guess even octopus could barely catch his breath, much less us humans with merely two hands.
Anyway, we ended up having a really simple dinner just so to fill our protesting stomachs.
But I didn't have much appetite, just plainly swallowing.

Actually I don't really feel tired, but I enjoy my day.
I guess working with fun people brightens up your day too.
To be honest, I like challenges like these that break me from routines :)
If everyone is so fun to be with like YS... Oh wait, I think that's gonna be a bit too chaotic and noisy - well, pretend I mention nothing.
